You may have read or heard that the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery - The Art Museum for the Environment has been handed its walking papers, after 18 years at the Riverside County Fairgrounds. We must now look for a new location to house our environmental art programs and exhibits for the children of the Coachella Valley and Riverside County. We need your help! It is our mission to actively engage our youth as stewards of their environment through a hands-on effort stressing the Four R's - Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibility. Taking care of our local and global environment all starts here at home because really, for a better planet, it is all about children and the environment! We need your support to be able to fund our relocation and continue providing the innovative educational programs we offer at no cost to the valley's youth.
Thank you,
Karen Riley, S.C.R.A.P. Gallery Executive Director
The mission of the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is to actively engage youth as stewards of their environment through a concentrated, hands-on, educational effort stressing the Four R’s – Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Responsibility. The S.C.R.A.P. Gallery is an innovative program that addresses two of today’s most urgent issues – the environment and the education of our youth. Conservation and reuse through hands-on exploration with discarded materials is promoted at the S.C.R.A.P. Gallery. Arts and science workshops help students understand complex environmental issues. Materials donated by local businesses and manufacturers are available for reuse by teachers, artists and community programs.
